Nabeshima Tetsuhiro‘s dedication to the Touhou series continues with his Comiket 79 release, Toho Antique. The theme centers around the objects in each character’s possession. Unlike some of Nabeshima Tetsuhiro‘s other books, the illustrations have a very finished look.

Toho Antique is B5-sized and 30-pages. The inside covers are used as pages, although the illustrations in the book only appear on every other page. There are a total of 13 illustrations including the cover. Marisa Kirisama is the only character that appears twice.

I like the theme, but the illustrations aren’t that interesting. The characters are in static poses. Touhou is an action shooter game, and some of the best illustrations for it keep that in mind. I wouldn’t recommend Toho Antique because there are nicer collections out there.
