Queen’s Blade continues to push the envelope with the release of its newest art book, Vanquished QueensVanquished Queens consists of new illustrations of the Queen’s Blade ladies, each defeated in battle. Each illustration is by the original character designer.

Queen’s Blade Vanquished Queens is hardcover, B5-sized and 48-pages, like the normal character books. The book has a slip cover, but also a printed cover without text. Each illustration is a full page, except for Airi‘s illustration, which gets a mini fold-out poster. There aren’t a lot of illustrations–around 20 in total–but they are all new for this collection.

Next to each illustration is the story of the depicted ‘vanquishing.’ Although there is no full-on nudity in this collection, there are several illustrations that come very close. I like that I’ve hit the end of the book, and really, there isn’t anything I can share in this post.

There are two editions of Queen’s Blade Vanquished Queens: the standard edition (which I bought) retailing for ¥1980, and the deluxe edition retailing for ¥4980, because it comes with a vanquished figure of Annelotte.
